I've needed to take care of my 'tag' for a couple weeks.
Here goes:
1. Three other majors along the way: Engineering, Landscape Architecture, & Industrial Design. Attended three colleges/universities while at those majors
2. Cycling is my first 'real' sport
3. Debeaked chickens (long before college)
4. Pale & Amber Ale's are a real favorite
5. In a seeming minority who like black jelly beans and ginger (not together)
6. Tooled leather for over a decade

What is the purpose of debeaking chickens?
In a production environment it helps keep the chickens from pecking each other (injury/death) and reduces feed waste. Exciting eh? Not so much, but one of those chicken 'factoids".
Unlike horse and cow 'yards' one NEVER gets used to and only tolerates the smell of chickens.
I gotcha. There are loads of chicken houses in TX. I seem them going to the Tyson plant all the time crammed into those open cage trucks.
Too bad for the chickens that they taste so good breaded or with wing sauce :)/

Are the Tyson chickens meat packing birds? We raised "layers" chickens for eggs.
