Weather was the word for the day.
Loads of snow at Waterford, Robert and crew did a stellar job of making the course a superb one to ride. A few super fast sections mixed in with some that were almost silly slow to remain upright. Thinking the lack of heat kept a few of the regulars away today. Temp got all the way up to 18-19 degrees by the start. Solid NW wind took the windchill into single digits. The sun though came through and was shining on us for the day.
Bicilibre did a fine job representing with Andy taking home the win in the men's 45+ race today. Things came together nicely for me as the season draws to a close. Repeat of last year's place for 2nd in the elite women. Fun day of racing, lots of folks braved to cold to cheer us all on.
Thanks to Kinetic Systems and Tailwind for a stellar job!
Even got to make it to the little guy's 3rd birthday party. Racing CX and playing with the grandson all in one day. Pretty sweet.

what did you wear on your hands for that single digit racin'?
Great job. You're awesome, as usual!
Syd,
Lobster mitts with charcoal heaters were super. That along with being a tad overdressed on the head to help force the body into thinking it was hot.
Andrea,
Thanks for the kind words. You keep working on things this winter and you'll be amazing yourself too!
Lobster's huh? Good idea for the super low temps. I'm thinking the cannondale ones are chill gloves.
Congrats Anne!!!
I was bummed that I couldn't make it but it all worked out in the end. My legs were nice and fresh for the 20 minute power test I had to do on the trainer.
Good luck at Nationals and kick some cross butt!!! I'll be rooting for you :-)
Syd, Any of those vulcan mitts where you end up with two fingers and a thumb. Toss in a choarcoal pack and it really helps.
Danielle, Missed you out there. Figured the weather/roads were on the rough side.
Thanks!
Nice job and LOVE those Dugasts on that Ti frame!! Looks like a SmOoTh ride!!! Our last race was similar. Snow, single digits and windy!!
Just found your blog and am in awe. I can't even start to imagine how it would feel like to race in those temperatures. I raced in muggy 32 degrees Celsius this morning ...
